Janie Sapon is the founder of Sapon Immigration. She is a licensed attorney and has handled countless employment-based and family-based cases. Her expertise spans both areas of immigration law, with her current focus being compliance.
Before beginning her studies in law school and throughout her time there, Janie worked in immigration law firms, gaining valuable knowledge and experience directly applicable to her work upon graduation. She has spent the last decade building a full-service enterprise focusing on high-quality legal expertise and service with immigration matters. That expertise is wide-ranging and offers service to employers needing assistance with legal visa processing, talent acquisition, and compliance, as well as to individuals needing assistance with family-based or individual petitions. Janie has established and nurtured her reputation as an attorney who provides dedicated and focused service tailored to each client’s needs.
Seeing a need and desiring to solve it for her clients, Janie and her husband, David, partnered to create an international recruitment network that provides her corporate clients with a reliable and fraud-free way of locating qualified employees for hire in the United States. Janie’s vision for innovative ideas for visa types and processing strategies that meet requirements for obtaining work authorization for foreign nationals in the United States further supports those recruitment efforts.
Janie has handled countless cases serving individual clients as well as corporate clients, including TN visa petitions, H-1B visa petitions, H-2A/H-2B visa petitions, H3 training visa petitions, J-1 visas and waivers, O-1 visa petitions, PERM labor certification and I-140 immigrant worker petitions, R-1 religious worker petitions, I-130 and I-485 petitions, consular processing cases as well as immigrant visa waiver applications (I-601, I-601A, I-192), U visa petitions, SIJS petitions, and many others.
Janie has been invited to speak regarding U.S. immigration opportunities at industry conferences throughout the U.S. and universities across Mexico. She has participated in industry conferences in the U.S. regarding visa opportunities and recruitment of potential employees. She has also been invited to speak at local community gatherings in Louisville and Nashville regarding various immigration matters. Additionally, Janie has presented information at legal summits and met with political leaders to advocate for change to the current immigration laws that would benefit American companies, citizens, and our precious immigrant community that are both currently in the United States and applying for entry from abroad.
Janie is fully fluent in Spanish and English. She lived and worked in Mexico for seven months while finishing her undergraduate degree in international business and modern languages. She is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Kentucky Bar Association and has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Mexico, Central America, and Europe. She has gained valuable insight regarding cultures, education, business, and people that greatly benefit her clients. Janie is married and has five children and two dogs. She loves music, traveling, and cooking new things.
